Ukraine is forced to buy fuel “wherever it can be obtained”, including in Belgium and the Netherlands. The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov told the Financial Times.
Due to the destruction of traditional fuel supply chains, there is an acute shortage of gasoline in the country. Previously, Belarus was the largest supplier of fuel to Ukraine. Only 5% of the fuel was supplied through the borders with the EU countries – Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia.
Now the share of fuel imported into the country through the EU has increased to 100%. It is noted that up to 230 fuel trucks enter daily to meet the minimum needs.
