President Vladimir Putin instructed the heads of regions affected by natural fires , assess damage to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities, as well as pay material compensations to citizens. This is stated in the presidential decree published on the Kremlin website.

The instruction was given to the highest officials of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as the Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Omsk and Kurgan regions.

Until July 1, the authorities of the regions must provide the victims of the fires by the payment of one -time financial assistance, financial assistance & laquo; due to partial or complete loss of first necessity & raquo;, to pay compensation to citizens who were physically injured in fires and those who lost their members in a fire families.

Until October 1, the regions must also assess the damage to the infrastructure of the regions and send a request to the federal authorities for damages from the federal budget. The government must ensure, together with the regions, the implementation of “social support» for those citizens whose houses were lost or damaged due to fires, and report on the results of work by December 1, 2022.

In addition, the president instructed the government and the Central Bank to “work through the issue” on the restructuring of loans taken from banks by residents of these regions. Insurance companies, in turn, should speed up the payment of funds under insurance contracts by reducing the list of required documents and simplifying the procedures for their submission.

Separately, Putin instructed the Ministry of Energy to check the technical condition of power grid facilities in the regions by August 1 and plan their modernization, if necessary.

This year, forest fires have already caused “significant material damage,” Putin said at the beginning May. Acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan, speaking at the same meeting with the president, specified that forest fires destroyed almost 1.3 thousand buildings in the Kurgan region, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Kemerovo, Irkutsk, Omsk and Novosibirsk regions.
