Turkey is trying to negotiate telephone conversations with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters. The broadcast was translated into English on the PresserWatch Twitter account (TRT project).
“Our colleagues are consulting on the subject of telephone conversations with Putin and Zelensky”, — he said.
He will discuss grain exports with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. Erdogan also noted that Turkey continues to make efforts to ensure that the leaders of Russia and Ukraine meet in person.

The Kremlin insisted that the meeting of the leaders would be possible only when the delegations worked out concrete proposals.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called the talks constructive. He specified that a meeting could be held in Istanbul with the participation of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN.
