The State Duma plans to adopt the corresponding law before the end of the year. "This is not about banning the trade in animals in general, but about establishing requirements for their sales — explains 1st Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on Ecology Vladimir Burmatov. — Where the requirements are met, trade will be allowed. We mean, for example, spacious, ventilated rooms, regular walking of animals, compliance with their daily routine and nutrition, mandatory veterinary assistance. In relation to large animals, pet stores and bird markets will obviously not be able to provide this. The pet store will be able to sell aquarium fish, budgerigars, small rodents, etc. And, say, dogs can be purchased at state and private breeding kennels, or taken from & nbsp; shelters.
