A report on discrediting the army was drawn up against a Novosibirsk deputy

A protocol was drawn up against the deputy of the Novosibirsk City Council Helga Pirogova on discrediting the Russian army (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, punishment— a fine in the amount of 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles). This was reported to TASS by her lawyer Yegor Solunin .

On the evening of July 21, Pirogova was detained after a charity auction and taken to the police station. Later, she was released with a protocol.

Earlier that day, the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed Pirogova to be checked. The reason was the publication of the deputy on Twitter, where she commented on the funeral of the Russian military who died during the military operation in Ukraine. She later deleted the post, calling it “too emotional.”

The publication caused discontent among local politicians. In particular, Andrey Panferov, First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region, addressed an open letter to the mayor of Novosibirsk, Anatoly Lokot, and the head of the City Council, Dmitry Asantsev, alleging “blasphemous behavior”; Pirogova. On Friday, July 22, a meeting of the parliamentary commission on ethics will be held in connection with its publication.

Pirogov— independent deputy of the City Council, member of the commissions for local self-government, social policy and education. She participated in all major rallies in Novosibirsk, and also helped organize a rally in support of journalist Ivan Golunov.
